At the opening ceremony, Lu Shan, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, Yang Bin, Vice President of Tsinghua University, Jiao Jie, Chief Accountant of Tsinghua University and Dean of Wudaokou School of Finance of Tsinghua University, Zhu Min, initiator of the 50 Forum on Global Economic Governance, former Vice President of the IMF, and former Vice President of the People's Bank of China, and Mark Uzan, Executive Director of the Commission on Reshaping the Bretton Woods System, delivered opening speeches respectively. Xuan Changneng, Vice Governor of the People's Bank of China, and Liao Min, Vice Minister of Finance and member of the Party Leadership Group, delivered keynote speeches. Gu Liangfei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wudaokou School of Finance, Tsinghua University, served as the host of the opening ceremony.
The International Conference on the "Bretton Woods System: The Past 80 Years and Future Prospects" and the 2024 Tsinghua Wudaokou Global Financial Forum lasted for two days (May 27 - 28). More than 70 high-level Chinese and foreign political and economic leaders, important experts and scholars gathered on the bank of the West Lake. Gathering global hot spots and based on China's perspective, the forum held 8 thematic meetings and 4 parallel forums around 12 major themes including global macroeconomic transformation, emerging market recovery, the future path of climate financing, and financial empowerment of technological innovation.
