A person familiar with the matter who declined to be named because the information was not disclosed saidegs777slotCheng recently resigned as managing director of the company. Before leaving, Cheng led a team responsible for building alternative data and advanced statistical tools to develop cross-asset strategies.
He did not respond to text messages seeking comment. A spokesman for JPMorgan declined to comment.
Cheng joined JPMorgan Chase in 2010 as an equity derivatives strategist. According to his LinkedIn files, he previously worked for Lehman Brothers and Barclays.
